KDE 4: il punto su Plasma

Ecco un nuovo video sullo stato di sviluppo di Plasma in KDE 4.0 presentato dallo sviluppatore Aaron Seigo nel KDE commit-digest di questa settimana :

Interessanti le parole di Seigo ma interessante è anche la lentezza e la cura con cui lo stesso Seigo sta attento a spostare i plasmoidi per non far “scattare” tutto l’ambiente. Sulle animazioni c’è ancora molto da lavorare anche perchè nonostante i miglioramenti delle ultime settimane sono ancora piuttosto pesanti (e non so che PC abbia Seigo !). Altre novita presto su TuxMind..

    Le muove ma le muove molto lentamente. Mi sembra evidente che non muova nulla per non far notare i rallentamenti. Chi ha provato KDE 4 da SVN capirà.. ;-)

  3. Dear sir,

    This is the worst video i have ever seen about software. You talk of many cool things, but YOU NEVER SHOW ANYTHING. All you do is shade and unshade the one window showing, with those god-awful clocks in the middle of the desktop. Who uses a clock like that? And when you say the clock can be the made to take the whole background, would it kill you to demonstrate?? I mean since all aesthetic considerations have been long abandoned already.

    For the records, I am a KDE user, love it, and look forward to the next version.

I agree, I would love to have seen some demonstration of all these cool new ideas that KDE 4 will be brining to the desktop (I still can’t imagine what a clock background would look like, since the clock is round and the desktop is square). But it sure is some nice work you guys have been doing and I also am eagerly awaiting the release of K4!

  5. It’s those little things that make everything better, or worse. I hate that little thing in the upper right hand corner. It wouldn’t be so bad if it were customizable… Is it grey? Couldn’t it be smaller? Is it optional? What do you think? Other than that, KDE4 is looking sweet!
